Group 61

Group 61 is a Brisbane based charity that enhances the quality of life of people affected by mental health issues living in the community. Matching up volunteers with ‘friends’, the charity organises social catch ups over coffee once a week to break sufferers’ isolation and get them out of their homes and into the community.
Group 61 was founded in late 2000, by John Fox, a retired accountant from North Queensland who realised a particular group of the community were going largely unnoticed.

Made 4 Media

made4media is a fully integrated brand agency specialising in design, advertising, marketing, communications and events and is proud to be working with Group 61 on this charity initiative.

Mental illness effects 1 in 5 Australians and it is a disease we need to start talking about. The team at made4media created this campaign to get the message out to the masses and we hope that we can all start talking about it. We also aim to raise enough money to keep the charity Group 61 alive as they currently do not receive any Government funding.

For the love of coffee, this campaign will hopefully show that the small sacrifice of giving up coffee for a month is nothing in comparison to those that suffer mental illness. And if you can’t give it up, just sponsor someone that has.
